FAQs and Tips

Electrical outages can and do happen in the country. They can be caused by ice, wind, and electrical storms to name a few. We cannot give rental concessions for an act of God resulting in the loss of power and the inconvenience it brings. Should you encounter an electrical storm, please unplug electronic equipment and stay out of the hot tub. If traveling during anticipated snowfall – we recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle.

Should you have any problems with heat or A/C during your stay, contact the party referenced in your Welcome letter and handbook at the cabin. Please make sure the unit is on before reporting an outage. The thermostat is located on the wall under the steps on the main floor.

Please be aware that you are coming to stay in the middle of the woods. While we have our cabins treated on a regular basis, it is likely that you will see bugs/wildlife during your stay. We do not offer rental concessions if you see any during your stay.

Check-In is at 4PM. Please see access instructions under directions.

Check-Out is at 11AM. Please leave the cabin in the condition you find it. Please text “DEPARTED” to the number noted in the Welcome letter and handbook in the cabin.

  • Remember to take all food and personal items upon departing the cabin.
  • Check under the beds and in drawers/cabinets/closets for personal items and trash. Check outlets for chargers.
  • Empty all trash cans and take the trash to the dumpster at the end of the drive by the brown barn.
  • Leave all towels in a pile in the bathrooms.
  • Remove all used bedding and leave in room beside the bed.
  • Close and lock doors/windows and turn off lights/electronics.
  • Set the thermostat at 60 degrees for heat and 75 degrees for A/C.

Our cabins are self-catering units. You will need to supply your own toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher tabs and trash bags once the starter supply has been used, or if you have a specific brand you “only” use, please bring it with you. We do not provide beach towels for the hot tub. Bring your own food and food related items, including coffee (non-Keurig), coffee filters, seasonings, foil, bags, etc. The cabins use well water – bring bottled water or jugs if desired. Bring your own clothes, personal toiletries, electronics and chargers, fire starting materials and wood for fire pits, and small kitchen appliances (crockpot/blenders/juicers). We supply bed linens, bath towels, washcloths, pillows, pots, pans, silverware and basic cooking utensils. Feel free to bring games, movies and electronics. If you have something you cannot “live” without – bring it with you.
